This has truly been a wonderful season.
I have always been a fan of the cooler weather, but this fall has truly outdone itself. We started the season a little late. Our September and October temperature was ranging in the high 60’ and low 70’. Not to disappoint though the Birmingham climate changed a few weeks ago and we were blessed to get snow. Yes people SNOW!! It snowed I mean actually snowed in Birmingham, Al. A city that I can usually walk around comfortably year round in a light jacket. It wasn’t a little bit of snow either, some areas got a few inches. What a great way to end the fall season here! It goes to show how just because something hasn’t happened, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
Some other things that have been happening to me this season. I was able to finish two books on my to be read (TBR) list that had been on there for a while. My TBR list is extremely long, but I am slowly ticking off book by book. Some of the books that have been on my TBR list for a while or those that I know I should read, but I haven’t been in the mood to read them.
Two books that I checked off recently are:
Book #1 Boundaries in Dating by Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend
I started reading this book almost a year ago. It was recommended to me by a counselor. This was actually a really good book. I am not sure why it took me so long to read it. Probably because its one of those books that you have to think about. I found myself somedays reading only a few pages and having to put the book down to think on what I had just read. It is truly a powerful book and even if you are past the dating stage I really recommend you read this book.
Book #2 How to talk so your husband will listen by Rick Johnson
I picked this book up one day while grocery shopping. It was on an end cap and I thought the title was very interesting. I do not have a husband, but why not prepare now for my future. I took my time reading this book, because parts of it needed to soak in. A lot of good information on how to effectively talk so you are heard. Not just by your husband but by anyone. I think we woman fail to realize how much power our words have. So much power in the tongue and we should be careful with our words, they can make or break an individual.
Now that I have checked those two books off my TBR List, I am back to searching for my next great read. I know what you’re thinking just pick a book off my TBR list. Unfortunately it’s not that easy.
Feel free to share what you’re reading!!
I love adding books to my TBR list.
